CANYON PARK FRIENDS OF OPEN SPACE
We are a group of residents of the Canyon Park and nearby neighborhoods
in the El Sobrante Valley who are concerned with the proposed Clark Road Project (CRP)
and its impact on the residents, schoolchildren, hikers, wildlife and open space. We
are opposed to the rapid growth of housing projects on ecologically
sensitive areas in the Valley and work closely with the El Sobrante Valley
Legal Defense Fund which is under fiscal sponsorship by the Sierra Club Foundation.
We strive to maintain a consistent policy on development, supporting only
responsible projects that are environmentally sound and have built in long-term
safeguards for both the new residents and the neighbors.
We offer this website to keep the public informed of scheduled
events and new developments, to make available information pertaining to the
CRP and other large area development projects, and to foster the movement to
preserve the Richmond - El Sobrante Hillsides.
We would appreciate your help with leafleting,
researching and public outreach. Please contact us if you would like to be placed on
our volunteer list.
Donations to the ESVLDF are needed and welcomed. Your tax-deductible check should be made
out to: "Sierra Club Foundation" with "ESVLDF" written on the memo line. It is very important
to follow this format exactly.
Send to: ESVLDF , P.O. Box 21696, El Sobrante, CA, 94820.
